"I have some Aeroplan Points but no card really attached to it as I am a full on Avion member. Is there a way to transfer those Aeroplan points over to Avion? I think I have around 290K worth of points but other than the occasional Esso gas fill I do not think about that plan much"
There is actually a way you can convert Aeroplan Miles to RBC Rewards points. It is a two step process. You’d convert from Aeroplan to Esso Extra to RBC Rewards. First you need to create an account with Points.com and the register your Aeroplan Account with them and also an Esso Extra account. You can convert up to 50,000 Aeroplan Miles at a time and that will give you 58,266 Esso Extra Points. Aeroplan allows you to transfer 100,000 miles per year with this method so it will take you a few years to transfer all your miles! Then log in to Esso Extra and you convert to RBC at a rate of 2,500 Esso Extra points to 1,500 RBC Rewards Points. This means for every 100,000 Aeroplan Miles you’ll get 69,000 RBC Rewards points. Not the most ideal exchange but if it means you’ll use them up rather then have them sit then it works.
