You may have noticed that there has not been much updating of the Rewards Canada sites and no newsletters for the past month. This was because I was off celebrating the birth of my little daughter. Rewards Canada had some more press exposure recently by being featured in a special section of the April 4th edition of the Toronto Star called "Travel Smart"

Air Canada has reinstated 100% status mileage on Tango Plus fares (formerly known as Fun Fares) on domestic flights. Regular Tango fares continue to only offer non-status miles.

Air France Frequence Plus and KLM Flying Dutchman will be merged into one program called Flying Blue in June. Full details will be announced shortly

Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan has discontinued it's partnership with HeliJet. Mileage Plan members will no longer earn or redeem miles on HeliJet

Star Alliance welcomed TAP Air Portugal as it's 16th member. This of course means that TAP Victoria members can earn and redeem points across the Star Alliance network, and members of other Star Alliance programs can earn and redeem on TAP flights.

TD Gold Travel Visa is raising many of it's fees as of June 1, 2005. The annual fee will change from $99 to $120, supplementary cards will go from $39 to $50, the interest will go from 18.5 to 19.5% and the foreign currency fee will go up to 2.5%. In addition if the outstanding balance exceeds the credit limit on the card a $20 fee will be charged.

Air Canada will begin Toronto to Guyana service (via Trinidad) starting on June 13.

WestJet will offer 3x weekly seasonal summer service between Calgary and San Diego from June 2 through to October 11.
