2009 Program Change Highlights

Super Elite Priority Rewards

"The benefit of superior reward seat access - previously known as Super Elite Special Access to Aeroplan Reward seats – comes at a cost for both Air Canada and Aeroplan. In order to continue offering this privilege to our best customers, the Aeroplan mileage reward levels have been revised for Super Elite Priority Reward reservations made as of March 01, 2009."
COMMENT: This is the increased mileage requirement to what is informaly known as the IKK benefit. Reports are stating that the increase is 30%+.

Elite Priority Rewards

"While the Elite Special Access to Aeroplan Reward seats benefit has been renamed Elite Priority Rewards, Elite members continue to enjoy the same priority access to reward seats in Economy Class at up to double the ClassicFlight mileage reward levels – when no Classic Flight seats are available."
COMMENT: There is no change hear except for the name of this benefit.

Extra Checked Baggage Allowance

"Super Elite and Elite members have the privilege of checking up to three standard pieces of luggage – at no extra charge, regardless of fare option purchased. Each piece must weigh less than 70lbs (32kg) for a total of 210lbs (95kg). While this privilege formerly entitled up to four standard pieces of luggage for a total combined weight not exceeding 200 lbs (90kg), the revised baggage allowance continues to exceed the normal allowance of two standard pieces of luggage, each weighing less than 50 lbs (22kg)."
COMMENT: The weight per piece has increased but as stated you are now only allowed three pieces of luggage versus the previous four.
